Performance and Recording Career Highlights

Kreplin has performed throughout the US, Spain, Portugal and South America. Critics and audiences alike have experienced his performances as having an easy warmth.  His performances in Spain and South America were sponsored by the United States Information Service (USIS). Kreplin received an A+ rating from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and USIS for touring abroad.

Kreplin’s teachers have included Jose Tomas at the Oscar Espla Conservatory (where he studied for two years), Andres Segovia at Musica de Compostela, and John Marlow at American University.

Gordon has dedicated himself to working with living composers, premiering many new additions to the classical guitar repertoire. Enjoy an sample below!

Photography Career Highlights

In 1989, Kreplin added a second artistic career: photography. Since that time he has gained national recognition as a photographer, having won several awards from Kodak, LexJet and ASP. He was granted status as an international judge for Professional Photographers of American (PPA), and has himself won five PPA medals in international competition.

Teaching Career Highlights

Gordon Kreplin has taught at various colleges and universities in the U.S. including George Washington University, Virginia Commonwealth University, Meredith College and Washington Bible College, and in Portugal at El Conservatorio de Horta on the island of Faial.

Gordon served for four years in the North Carolina Visiting Artist program, providing educational programming at community colleges across the state. He also served counties across Maryland and Virginia, providing educational programming in public schools.

Today, Gordon is Co-Owner and Co-Director of Ascencion Music Academy, an independent studio music school on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
