This gallery contains the collected images for which photographer Gordon Kreplin earned merit ratings in the annual PPA International Competition. Made over a four-year period, this body of work earned Gordon his Master of Photography and contributed to his attaining status of international PPA judge.
In 1989, Kreplin added a second artistic pursuit: photography career. Gordon and his wife Cathy established a portrait photography studio on the Outer Banks, Ascencion Photography. For 18 years, they served families and created iconic outdoor portraits on location.
Accomplishments
During that time Gordon earned his Master Photographer degree from PPA, and gained national recognition as a photographer. He won several awards from Kodak, LexJet and ASP. He was granted status as an international judge for Professional Photographers of American (PPA), and has himself won five PPA medals in international competition.
Kreplin’s combined passion for music and imaging creates powerful musical storytelling. Throughout his artistic career, Gordon has found common elements of rhythm, form and color in music, imaging and poetry. These passions have shaped an artistic curiosity that reveals itself in the music, writing and photography found here.
